Robbie is a seasoned veteran of all things motorsports.
His accomplishments as a professional driver include series Championship wins in the Barber Pro Series and Indy Lights, 24-Hours of Daytona, multiple race wins in IndyCar, and 10 competitive IndyCar seasons as a driver until his retirement from professional driving in 2004. As co-owner of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, Buhl fielded cars in 15 Indy 500's. He's served as on-air racing analyst for ESPN, Versus and NBC television networks and Indy 500 Radio. Closest to Buhl's heart is his 26 years as National Spokesman for Racing for Kids, a charity that uses auto racing to bring attention to the healthcare needs of children. Racing for Kids has visited more than 29,000 children in hospitals and raised nearly $6.5 million for children's health initiatives.
Tom is a financial management executive based in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan He is also active on multiple advisory boards in Detroit, including the College for Creative Studies, Detroit Zoological Society, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit Historical Society and Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan. Tom is a prime example of the Buhl name which has been an integral part of Detroit's leadership history.
Buhl Sport Detroit is a competitive racing team and brand marketing group founded by
brothers Tom and Robbie Buhl, based in Downtown Detroit. A major focus of Buhl Sport Detroit is to foster community involvement and interaction as well as to help drive the benefits of living and visiting the Motor City to a national audience.
Motorsports: Under the direction of racing champion Robbie Buhl the new team will compete in the 2016 Red Bull Global Rally Cross Championship, and also manages brand programs for corporations in IndyCar racing/Indianapolis 500.
